In this lecture, we will explore the transformative potential of AI in healthcare, specifically through the lens of automated mobile disease microscopy. This innovative technology uses AI and mobile devices to perform microscopic analysis for disease detection and diagnosis, making healthcare more accessible and efficient in various settings. We'll discuss how AI-driven mobile microscopy can revolutionize disease detection and diagnosis, while also addressing the critical issue of responsible AI in this context. Presenter: Dr. Rose Nakasi, a Computer Scientist and Artificial Intelligence Researcher is a Lecturer at Makerere University and Head of Makerere AIHealth Lab, Uganda, and the PI of the NIH DS-I Malaria project under the DS-I Africa, an initiative to support effective malaria diagnosis and surveillance.
