In this international seminar of the Initiative for Responsible AI in Medicine at Tel Aviv University (December 2025, on Zoom), Dr. Maya Leventer-Roberts, MD, MPH, Staff Clinical Specialist at Google for Health, shared a perspective on the short- and long-term vision of generative AI in healthcare and the difficult questions we grapple with today. If healthcare moves at the speed of trust, what is the responsible pace for introducing these technologies, and what will be the inevitable trade-offs? The session offered a critical perspective on the data paradox: the profound responsibility of using today's doctor-generated information to train algorithms that perform better than their data source. It also touched upon some of the biggest challenges in implementing the last mile.
