Responsible AI in Medicine Seminar Tuesday, 27 June 2023 Presenter: Maureen Abbott, Manager, Programs and Priorities, Access to Quality Mental Health Services. Mental Health Commission of Canada In a Nutshell: The lecture details the Mental Health Commission of Canada's (MHCC) efforts towards improving e-mental health services, focusing on the need for standards in mental health apps and the new Assessment Framework. This Framework emphasizes cultural safety, social responsibility, equity, representation of the BIPOC community, gender equality, and user involvement in app development. It also discusses the MHCC's E-Mental Health Implementation Learning Modules, designed to aid mental health professionals in integrating e-mental health into practice. The lecture outlines the development of the E-Mental Health Strategy for Canada, which incorporates the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) principles and concentrates on the mental health workforce, concluding with a discussion on the use of artificial intelligence in e-mental health.
